10 Actions That Will Ensure Your MLM Leadership

If you follow the items listed below, you will no doubt become a profitable leader of your Network Marketing team:

1) Develop a positive attitude towards the industry. Many times, people have unreasonable expectations about the network marketing industry. If you make a habit of looking upon the industry as one that has many great people involved in it, then you will attract more people into your team.

2) Create a culture of healthy expectation in your organization. Your actions and attitude will set the tone in your organization. When you do makes an impression, especially on the new members of your team.

3) Lead by example. Don’t expect your downline to do something that you won’t do yourself – you will lose creditability very quickly otherwise.

4) Reward innovative thinking. If you can do this, you will be miles ahead of most leaders who are slow to drop tired old methods.

5) Don’t covet the spotlight. Give credit where credit is due. This will empower your people in a huge way. Think of all the times where managers have blown this rule only to lose their people forever – trust is gone when this happens.

6) Be decisive. You must take charge as this will keep your people at ease in knowing that their leader has a backbone. Often times it is more important to make a decision than it is to make the right one.

7) Be realistic and confront the facts. There will be times when you wish that things were different, but you will have to play the cards you are dealt. Don’t back down from this. Face adversity with as much grace and dignity as you possibly can. You will score big with your people.

8) Practice discipline. If you are sloppy in your approach to business then you will get poor results. Every business takes time and discipline if you want to be successful.

9) Build healthy relationships. Your interpersonal skills will be much needed as you build your team. People will ultimately do business with you because of YOU.

10) Never quit. Perhaps the most important of all things is your willingness to persist. This is what will determine your success in the end.

If you would like to practice these principles and are interested in a system that will teach you have to become a successful network marketing team leader, then I recommend you check out the Magnetic Sponsoring System.

Should You Lead with Your Product or Your Opportunity When Prospecting

This is the big question, isn’t it? A question that lends itself to two distinct trains of thought. One is if you lead with your question then you can perhaps demonstrate the quality of the product in addition to building a relationship. On the other hand, enlisting people in the opportunity is much more profitable – for you and for them.

Certain companies have product lines that are much simpler to promote first. This strategy focuses more on building a large customer base. From this huge list of satisfied users of the products, a number of people will emerge to take on the opportunity you offer. The biggest advantage to this approach is that you will generate a cash flow much quicker because you are building a base of happy clients. The disadvantage is that it will be much slower to build significant wealth this way.

Most experienced and successful network marketers will tell that it is much more preferable to lead with your opportunity first. This will result in building a deeper, more active team and will also result in greater long-term residual income. This strategy will build a customer base from the people who are not interested in the opportunity.

Basically, the approach you take will ultimately depend on your short term and long term objectives. If you want to build a quick steady income stream, then you will want to promote your product line, and as customers are enjoying your products, you can keep reminding them of the opportunity. If you want to build long term wealth through residual income, then you will want to promote you opportunity first, and then market your products to all prospects who did not join your team. The thing you have to keep in mind here is that both strategies are predicated on providing great value in the products you offer – neither approach will work without this element.

The Network Marketing Shift

paradigm-shift

The network marketing industry is full of paradoxes. For starters, why in the world would someone quit a business in which others without any education are bringing in six figures annually? Yet, most network marketers don’t make it through the first year.

The old paradigm of these MLM whizzes indicated that they possess a outrageous communication skills. And anyone who joined could model their success by learning some of these skills. These skills included recruiting prospects on the phone, conducting home meetings, and buying lead lists to which to market.

It was quickly surmised that recruiting people and trying to nurture them to do likewise was much harder than we were led to believe. But if you were to look closer at the successful people, you would find that many of them had some kind of business experience before they entered network marketing. So they already had the right mindset – which is well over half the battle.

The few folks that stuck with the plan and worked through the trial and error were usually the ones who eventually succeeded. But in all honesty, they were indeed the exception to the rule as most recruits taking this route didn’t stay very long.

However, thanks to the technology of today, that old paradigm is not something that we are stuck with if we want to pursue a lucrative network marketing opportunity. This is what the internet has done for the business. Your methods of marketing have totally changed. In fact, if you have a solid plan in place that is structured to use certain internet tools which are structured to compliment MLM, then you will be able to put your business in automatic – literally. Don’t get the wrong impression. It will require work and it will require some rigorous marketing on your part. But when you find out what works, then you can start automating those particular parts of your operation.
