Using the Information Highway for the Network Marketer
We all have heard about the information age that we are now in and that the internet has become the information highway. Well, how does that help us as network marketers? The answer is that it will help us plenty if we understand our audience.
For starters, our audience is still tired of commercials, they are still tired of junk mail, and they are tired of salespeople in general. The Super Bowl is about the only time that an audience actually likes watching commercials. The internet has not changed that mentality one bit. So many network marketing individuals have made the mistake of trying to shove their fantastic offers down the throats of their prospects. This STILL doesn’t work.
In order to succeed in network marketing, you have to come to terms with the fact that if you sound like everyone else out there trying to pitch your opportunity, you will get nowhere fast.
So how do you overcome this? You must approach clients with something of value before you offer them anything. If you are willing to give a free report or a free ebook that will really help them out – I mean something that is COOL! Something that would blow them away and leave them wondering why you didn’t charge something for it, then you definitely have their attention. But more importantly, you will have their trust.
My friend, it is when they trust you that they will want to become your customer. But you can’t lay the big sell on them immediately – you should keep building trust and after a series of pleasant interactions, you casually mention your big ticket item. And then you find a way for them to get it – if and only if they want it.
That is all there is to it …

You’ve made some great points. It is all about creating value and focusing on educating people vs. selling them. There is a tremendous movement of network marketers (and other entrepreneurs) using the Internet to attract qualified prospects to them. It is called attraction marketing and its becoming very popular thanks largely to the teachings of a woman named Ann Sieg. There is a free report I would encourage anyone who would like to learn attraction marketing to read. You can download it for free at
Thanks!

Cindy,
Thanks for comments. You are absolutely right – we are dealing with a much more informed audience than ever before. They don’t want to be sold, they want information so THEY can decide.
Ann Sieg is definitely a great resource to use some great marketing techniques.
